Quick blog update & Arisu-Chan!

Hello kind readers, just a quick note to touch base with you and thank you for continuously giving my site great traffic, it really does make a difference to me when I check the site stats and you all are reading my posts, so once again I thank you! 🙂 I’ve been meaning for a while to ramp up this blog and, shall we say, take it to the next level. I believe I’ve started that by having a paid host which gives me far far greater control over the look and feel. The other thing I’ve also done is registered the japandaman.com domain name which you’re all on right now. Nothing wrong with the free wordpress name but having your own makes it feel…more official and professional 🙂

So with those two things out of the way I started thinking about where I could go next and the one thing that kept popping up was, I felt, the need for a mascot…or two. So I’ve been rather fortunate to be friends with a young amazing artist (she’ll blush) by the name of Stephanie Kelso who does mind blowingly fantastic work. I gave her the specs for what I was after, we bounced some ideas back and forth until we had a finished, polished product. So I can announce right here today that the Japandaman Dailies mascot is…Arisu-Chan! Arisu is an 18 year old, kimono wearing young girl who loves her dog, Kendo, and loves to amaze people with her fan skills and just generally loves life. Her name in English is Alice and in Japanese means ‘noble child’. If you pop on over to the newly created Facebook Japandaman Dailies page, you can meet her right now as she’s the display pic or u can take a look at the banner above for a quick tease 😉 And don’t forget while you’re on the Facebook page to click the Like button for me please. shameless plug, I know this 🙂

The new look banners for this blog will be going up later today to complete this part of the blog upgrade and you’ll start to see Arisu-Chan here, there and everywhere on the blog. And who knows…she might be joined by a friend in the near future as well 🙂 I’ll be putting up Arisu-Chan’s transformation via the sketches of her as well so you can all see what she started life as to the finished product.

That’s all for now but here’s hoping you’re all enjoying what I got going on around here and what’s still to come and of course the posts will still keep coming to entertain you all 🙂

Thank you once again and I’ll see you again soon,

Japandaman
