Popular Harajuku songstress, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, has scored another coup to add to her arsenal with the news that she will be providing the theme to a popular anime.
Kyary’s latest track, “Kimi ni 100 Percent“, has been selected as the theme track for anime, Crayon Shin-chan it was revealed recently. She broke the news herself to a crowd at the ‘TV Asahi Dream Festival 2012‘ on October 6th, which took place at the Yoyogi National Stadium. Nohara Shinnosuke, the main lead of the anime, also made a special appearance and also had the following to say, “I’m like ‘hooray!’ that Kyary Pamyu Pamyu-chan will be singing for me.“ After the announcement and the comment, the two took to the stage to perform the track together for the first time.
The track was penned by Nakata Yasutaka of capsule fame while Kyary added that she’s a big fan of the manga, owning all the volumes in the series. Kyary added, “The choreography for this song is very simple, so I want young children to dance along! Every week, I want people to listen to the song, and hope it would become popular throughout the city. It would make me happy if it becomes a national song!”
