Anyone remember the Shonen Jump games that mixed a whole heap of anime/manga characters into a brawler style of fighting game and was released exclusively in Japan for the Nintendo DS? They proved to be extremely popular with gamers in Japan incorporating Wi-Fi battles for random matches across the internet. Loads of fans outside Japan ended up having to import them but they were solid quality games.
Now for today’s gaming generation, they look set to do it all over again with the news that a similar is in production bound for both the PS3 and the PS Vita. Initially called Project Versus J but now renamed to J-Stars Victory Vs, the game is having the finishing touches being put on it in time to coincide the release with the 45th anniversary of the Shonen Jump magazine.
