The first feature film to be helmed by Hayao Miyazaki has just begun its promotional campaign in Japan with over 3 months to go before it premieres. The Wind is Rising marks the first film that Miyazaki has directed since Ponyo back in 2008. The film opens on July 20th and recently four film posters to promote movie began to show up in theaters. All four share the same tagline for the movie, “we must live on.”
On Japanese TV screen, a few screenshots were recently aired during a morning program.
In the past, Hayao had crafted a Kaze Tachinu manga which the new movie will draw from as well as the Tatsuo Hori similarly themed novel which explored the life of World War II Zero fighter designer Jirō Horikoshi.
