If you happen to be in Harajuku one day, you may come across a cafe with a twist. The Bunbougu Cafe offers its patrons a unique membership with gives them a key. The key unlocks one of the desks in the basement establishment containing writing supplies.
So beginning this week until June 13, they’ll be hosting a tribute dedicated to the God of manga, Osamu Tezuka. The event will contain a “osamu moet moso” gallery with tributes to Osamu featuring art from Takashi Okazaki (Afto Samurai), Range Murata (Last Exile), Kei (Hatsune Miku), Jū Ayakura(Spice and Wolf), Akemi Takada (80’s anime character design), Noizi Ito (Haruhi Suzumiya) and Haruhiko Mikimoto (Macross) just to name a few.
Stationery from Osamu will also be in there showing his trademark beret as well as some of his works from Kimba, Rainbow Parakeet, Three Eyed One, Marvelous Melmo, Princess Knight, Mw, Black Jack and of course, Astro Boy. The fee for all this is ¥3,500 and will cover the admittance, an appetiser, two drinks such as the Astro Boy tiramisu and the 10,000 horsepower. The package is called the Dining&Drinking&Drawing package.
