The past weekend saw the 2nd Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair after the huge success it turned out to be last year. The event is also known “Kyomafu” for short and was held on September 6 (business day) and September 7th (public day). The venue chosen for the event was the Miyako Messe (Kyoto International Exhibition Hall) and it was all put together by the City of Kyoto.
The idea of the event is to provide an avenue for young creators of manga and to create a greater awareness of both anime and manga for tourists and fans alike. Conditions weren’t the best for the event with Mother Nature turning on the rain but nonetheless, more 20,000 fans flocked to see some amazing manga and the odd anime thrown in.
