The latest sales figures are in from Japan and really, I know I’ve said it before, but there are no surprises once again. The 3DS continues to lead the charge once again showing that it isn’t about who has the most powerful hardware but more about who has the better software and the most innovation.
Vita fans can argue til they’re blue in the face that the Vita delivers, and in spades, over the 3DS but the sale figures certainly don’t reflect that, not at all. So without further ado, the sale charts.
- Nintendo 3DS: 76,322
- PlayStation 3: 27,111
- PSP: 15,928
- PlayStation Vita: 11,186
- Wii: 7,878
- Nintendo DS: 1,639
- Xbox 360: 1,508
- PlayStation 2: 1,269
Ouch for Sony, the PSP sold more than the Vita? That’s got to be a slap in the face when last generation hardware is selling more than current generation. It doesn’t get much better on the software front either I’m afraid.
- [PSP] Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave
- [3DS] Harvest Moon: The Land of Origin
- [PS3] Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm Generation
- [PSP] I Don’t Have Many Friends Portable
- [PS3] Asura’s Wrath
- [PSP] Nendoroid Generation
- [3DS] Super Mario 3D Land
- [3DS] Mario Kart 7
- [3DS] Monster Hunter 3G
- [PS3] The Idolmaster: Gravure For You! Vol.5
No software for the Vita in the top ten? Disastrous. We’ll see what happens next week but it looks like the time when the Vita sales dip below 10K isn’t too far away. Don’t forget, it only took less than a handful of week to fall below 20K.
