Yessir, that most awesome of time has rolled around again…Gaming Life in Japan! This is our little part dedicated to the gaming lifestyle of the Japanese public, where we see what they’re playing and how their hardware sales are doing. So without further ado, let’s roll on.
On the software front, there’s a been a shift from last week with a new game holding the top spot. It’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle for the PS3 which has climbed its way to the top. Meanwhile another highly anticipated PS3 title has snagged itself 2nd spot, that game being Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Even the PS Vita is having a presence with 3rd spot and the newly released Ragnarok Odyssey Ace. Not bad for Sony, the first four spots are all being held by games on Sony hardware. That’s a different change of scenery where normally Nintendo dominates. The rest of the list is naturally being made up by Nintendo titles across the 3DS.
Looking at hardware and this is where Nintendo is really holding their own with the 3DS holding the top spot. Interestingly, the 2nd position is being occupied by the PS3 which hasn’t been that high for a long time. This is no doubt being pushed along by the top 2 games in the software chart. The regular 3DS takes 3rd spot while the PS Vita steals 4th having a dip in sales from the previous week. The big worry though is the Wii U seeing an extremely low selling week with just over 6K units sold. Nintendo can’t seem to get a break with their console in their motherland.
That’s all from us for Gaming Life in Japan, more charts and sales info next week!
