Wii sees the end of line in Japan

Nintendo have confirmed a fact that we’ve been wondering for a whole now. What exactly is the status of the Wii in Japan as far as manufacturing is concerned? After all, the Wii U has been out for a while now and despite slower than expected sales, having both the Wii and the Wii U in production is just dead money we think.
