AnimeJapan trade show announced

Exciting trade news coming out of Japan today with the announcement that two existing anime trade shows have amalgamated and joined forces to become a bigger, new trade show.

The 2 trade shows are Anime Contents Expo (ACE) and Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) who have joined to form AnimeJapan 2014. As a result of both joining forces, ACE and TAF will cease operations and won’t be held anymore. However the new show will use the Tokyo Big Sight as the venue for their festivities. Not a lot of information can be found on the official site but there is a list of sponsors who are backing the new event. You can see the list below of who’s joined up so far.

Nunokawa Yuji, who sits on the chair for the Executive Commitee and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Association of Japanese Animations made a statement where he declared that he’d love to see AnimeJapan be recognised as the biggest event for anime lovers across the globe. They’re estimating numbers as high as 100,000 people for the 2 day event. If you’re travelling to Japan in 2014, keep March free.
