Last Week In Preorders

Well it doesn’t seem right to say it’s this week when it was actually last week but Melbourne’s Animaga Convention meant I wasn’t able to get these delicious preorder updates to you last week.

Orange Rouge don’t look like they’re about to slow down any time soon with their ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-‘ figures. This 1/8th scale figure of Shishiou based on his standard standing pose from the game has so many incredible details replicated from his card. His powerful yet slim legs, long wavering cape blowing in the wind, the even the nue creature on his back have been replicated wonderfully to create a perfect rendition of Shishiou and all his charms. Naturally a must have for any fans of him!

The last few weeks have seen figure after figure from the series ‘God Eater 2: Rage Burst’ and no wonder; these characters look fantastic! The next figure is of the captain of Fenrir’s special force unit ‘Blood’ – Julius Visconti! This figure is based on the main visual illustration from the series and replicates all the finer details of Julius and his outfit. His God Arc is also included, and even better, he has interchangeable parts allowing you to choose between two different poses when you display him!

Last week saw a Nendoroid of Karasuno High Boys’ Volleyball Club’s vice captain known as the ‘Indomitable Setter’ – Koushi Sugawara, from the incredibly popular Volleyball anime, ‘Haikyu!!’; the Shielder servant, Matthew Kyrielite, from the hugely popular -and addictive- mobage ‘Fate/Grand Order’; and from the game series ‘Kirby’, a matching Meta Knight using the same magnets as the previously released Kirby to create a massive range of poses!

New manufacturer Bell Fine have been getting some really popular licences, including ‘Hidan no Aria AA’ and ‘Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!’. These figures of Kanzaki H Aria, Mamiya Akari and KonoSuba’s Megumin show a lot of promise but close ups of the details show that they have a lot to learn still. Hopefully they’ll be able to improve quickly! At the least, they are picking some magnificent poses.

Aoshima/Funny Knights have released a number of Kai Ni versions of characters from ‘Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~’ and here they are with yet another one; this time of Maya, from the Takao-class of Heavy Cruisers. Her pose and those ship parts look fantastic but that angle is terrifying! There’s definitely high chances of leaning issues over time.

Alter and Ryu-NS have made a new version of the previously released ‘To LOVEru Darkness’ Lala Satalin Deviluke 1/6 scale figure. This new and updated version is the Pastel Co-De version and it looks fantastic! The changes in colour to her hair, the updated colouring on her swimsuit and even details as small as a new print on her canvas sneakers. The original was highly regarded and well sought after so if this version appeals to you, definitely get an order in at AmiAmi; who happen to be the only retailer carrying this item.

Also from Alter, the long awaited figure of Yasuhara Ema from ‘Shirobako’ has finally come up for order. After seeing her at expos painted for months, it was getting to a point where it was unclear when she would come up for order. But here she is! The key animator at Musashino Animation is sitting on her chair, ready to work. I personally particularly love her green eyes and those wonderfully sculpted hands!

The fabulous Erza Scarlet ‘Fairy Tail’ is seeing yet another figure of her not in her traditional armour. This Kuro Neko Gravure_Style version from Orca Toys is an alternate colour from the previously available white version, which releases in December as well. To the world of Exclusive Cast Off items, there are two new Hobby Japan items up for order.

Yukime from ‘Jigoku Sensei Nube’ is being made by Amakuni and is looking fantastic and is by former Griffon sculptor, I-Con. Yukime’s overall aesthetic is very reminiscent of the 90s artstyle and this figure replicates that very well with the highly detailed hair strands, simplistic face and outfit. I really like the inclusion of the snowman for the base, as she is a yuki-onna/snow-woman. She also has alternate parts for her to be cast-off (not shown).

And from Alter we have the last figure in the ‘Hyakka Ryouran’ series; Yagyu Jubei Final Bride Ver. She looks fantastic. The details on her dress, her swords, even her hair and face are just incredible. The print all over is so sharp and the gradient makes what could’ve been a painfully white outfit, pop.
But the biggest shock of this item is that fact that she is cast-off. This will be Alter’s first example of a cast-off figure and to do this with the last of an ecchi figure series? Talk about finishing with a bang.

Lastly, from Native we have the next in the Character Selection series; Suzushiro Mizuki from the manga series Boku Girl. Often mistaken for a girl, and transformed by the trickster god Loki, Mizuki is shown here based on the illustration from the 5th installment of the recently finished series. This figure seems simple but every detail has been recreated magnificently by Chieri (who is behind incredible works such as Max Factory’s Belldandy) and even comes with an interchangeable hood. Loki’s long tail is also bendable, allowing you to shape it however you please! Native items are always Exclusive, but fortunately they do ship to selected international countries!
