I’m currently vacationing in Japan and had a chance to check the Snow Festival 2020 in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Pics inside!
First off…it was absolutely freezing! On the days we went to the festival, it was routinely in the area of -6 or -9 degrees Celsius…very chilly. It was worth to check out as some of the sculptures were absolutely mammoth and building sized. That all took place in the main area, Odori Park.
Down the road from the park there was a smaller section in the middle of the road which was dedicated to ice sculptures which were all lit up at night making for stunning visuals. All in all it was worth checking out despite the frigid conditions which didn’t take anything away from the experience.
