Our favourite videographers, Rescue The Princess, are at it again, this time giving the rest of the world a look at Halloween time in Japan! And as usual, there’s many cool sights with loads of interesting people, cosplays and just general shenanigans. This was filmed at the street party in Shibuya which I need to get to one year 🙂
Ikebukuro in Tokyo is known for being another centre for otaku goodness. However, something else it’s also known for is hosting the kickass Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2017 in the near future. Hosted by Niconico, a Japanese based video social sharing site, the Ikebukuro East Entrance area of the JR station will undergo a stunning transformation from 29th to 30th October 2017 (Saturday and Sunday).
This is an event that takes place each year attracting cosplayers decked out in the best Halloween cosplay. There will also be events and activities to engage the participants and really make it a fun event. The best part of the event is that it takes place all over Ikebukuro, it isn’t dedicated to just one street or area of the town.
The annual event has been happening since 2014 and it’s growing in popularity as year passes. Now entering it’s 4th year, organisers are expecting up to 10,000 cosplayers taking part. The event is also streamed online and in the past has attracted 240,000 online viewers on Niconico Live Streaming. Anyone can take part as there’s an open invitation and there’s zero cost involved. The main part of the event will be taking place on the familiar Otome Road and will also encompass the nearby Minami Ikebukuro Park, no doubt there will be many cosplay photoshoots going down.
If you can’t be there in person, don’t sweat because as previously mentioned, the event will be live telecast on Niconico. Here’s the streaming schedule below:

Our favourite cosplay showcasers, Rescue The Princess, are at it again, this time bringing us a peek and the cosplay fun that went down at the TGS ’17. This time they also give us a peek into some of the amazing booths from TGS in particular, the Monster Hunter booth looked amazing with an amazing set up and attendants all decked out in some pretty impressive costumes!
Here are some pics from the Cosplay Collection Night Tokyo Game Show 2017. TGS wrapped up last weekend and while there were many cool games, there was also amazing cosplay on display as is evident from the pics below!
Time for another Cosplayer Of The Month update and this time it’s a new one that I came across on Twitter and Instagram. Say hello to Devil Lady, a cosplayer with a growing arsenal of awesome cosplays up her sleeve which she custom makes herself.
From Borderlands, Metal Gear Solid, Life Is Strange, Bioshock, this is one cosplayer to keep an eye on. Check out her gallery below and if you want to see more, social media links under that!
