The announcement was made during the One Hobby Gallery 2018 SPRING event which was recently held in Japan. Unfortunately no release date or price but even at this early stage, she’s looking fantastic and so cute!

The 1/7th Scale Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary Ver!

Can you believe that blue haired vocaloid, Hatsune Miku, has been around for 10 years? Me neither but her impact has been considerable across pop culture, cosplay and the music scene. To mark the occasion, Good Smile Company are going to be releasing a special Hatsune Miku figure which has been designed by manga artist Mari Shimazaki and expertly crafted by sculptor Takayuki Kawahara. This figure is absolutely eye wateringly beautiful, just have a look at the pics below.

This is one good looking figure especially with the translucent parts added to the outfit with minute little sparkles thrown in to really make her stand out and sparkle. There’s also a special 10th anniversary official site loaded with more pics and info. There’s also a section on the anniversary Nendoroid as well! Pre-orders are open right now but you’re in for a hefty wait as the figure doesn’t release until December 2018 but this is one figure to add to your collection. PS. My pre-order is in!

Samurai Captain America

Now this I’m really excited for! It’s the latest figure from Bandai in their Manga Reimagined series. They previously released both Spider-Man and Iron Man and now the newest figure to receive the samurai treatment is Captain America. I previously bought both superheroes in the series and I can’t wait for Cap to be released. It’s a bit of wait with the figure not shipping until January but I’ll definitely be putting my pre-order in ASAP! He’ll look great next to Iron Man and Spidey! Not sure of what to expect? Have a look at the gallery below.

The figure stands 6.9 inches tall and carries a price tag of ¥9, 504. More info here from the Bandai online store.

Wonder Festival 2017 Summer Wrap Up

Long time no post! I’ve been particularly busy on my own things – including a figure-centric (and sometimes other things) website and more YouTube content! But I’m here again to show all you Japanda-fans (ha ha) the new figures that you have absolutely got to make sure you know about from the top figure trade show, Wonder Festival.

This event runs twice a year, in February and July, and without fail there is always something to excite people. But not only that, in the same weekend, we just had the joy of a Fate/Grand Order centric show and just prior to that, several major American conventions that have heaps of the manufacturers we know and love showing off their goods.

But now straight to that, lets look firstly at the new stuff from the Wonderful Hobby Life 4 You collection – the fact that Good Smile Company are so kind to create an entire page of their announcements makes the lives of people like us so much easier!

Some personal key highlights from the GSC umbrella include the painted scale versions of the Your Name characters, everything Saekano, all the wonderful Touken Ranbu announcements and updates, and a glorious Wedding Dress version of Louise from Zero no Tsukaima.

But of course, while GSC and Co may take up about half of the main manufacturer’s event hall, there are other companies there with some amazing announcements and updates. Enjoy the gallery below of my choice picks.

Feel free to have a chat with me on my social media on Facebook and Instagram if you want to discuss the event and don’t forget to follow me on YouTube for more figure-centric content! You can also get more WonFes action with my website,, including an editorial which is due to be posted this week!

Kotobukiya Tease New Horror Bishoujo Figure At SDCC

As an amateur figure collector, I like finding a series of figures that I love and I stick with them to get them all. Case in point are the Horror Bishoujo figures from Kotobukiya which look like the pic below. These are from my collection and so far, I have them all.

Left to Right: Jason, Freddy, Edward Scissorhands, Chucky, Tiffany (Bride of Chucky)

So I was intrigued and excited when a friend tagged me on Facebook on a figure that Kotobukiya are teasing at San Diego Comic Con, or just SDCC for short. You can see that one below:

So clearly it’s Ash from the Evil Dead film series and just from the tease, you can already tell it’s going to be amazing!! I’m really hoping that this isn’t an SDCC exclusive and that the pre-orders will open up on the Kotobukiya site soon! With any luck, my collection might be adding another one soon 🙂

Eli Is The Latest Alter “Love Live! School Idol Festival” Figure

I jumped onto the idol anime sensation that was Love Live! very late and completely fell in love with it. I’d be lying if I said that tsundere Eli wasn’t among one of my favourite characters from the show. So I was really excited to see this latest alter figure of Eli from the Love Live! mobile game. She’s based on a sculpt from Takafumi Tobita and releases in September and is absolutely gorgeous and eye catching.

You can grab a pre-order now for ¥19,224. Damn that chequered pattern design is totally stunning!

Super Sonico Turns 10

Super Sonico, that eternally kawaii 18 year old had her birthday recently. Not the character turning of age but the date of her creation was October 14, 2006 meaning she’s been around for ten years already…time goes flying! Here’s her birthday greeting which is too cute:

You’ll be able to buy some anniversary goods soon on December 25th like a Super Sonico 10th Anniversary Book which contains 256 pages of full colour A4 sized goodness. It’ll be selling for ¥4, 500. Here’s a look at the cover:

And a peek at a sample page:

And a sample that’s NSFW so I’ll place it down a bit lower:

The pre-order bonus card from Dengekiya:

Now this is mouth wateringly awesome, a Super Sonico 10th Anniversary figure which will sell for ¥13, 800 from KADOKAWA ASCII Media Works. This will be releasing in March 2017.

Here’s the Soni-Ani: SUPER SONICO THE ANIMATION Blu-ray box which chronicles the anime from 2014 including beautiful art cards featuring Super Sonico artwork from character designer Santa Tsuji. Expect to fork over ¥15, 000 for this beauty.

Good Smile Company are also releasing an anniversary figure with price TBC. It’ll be released sometime during 2017.
