Comrade Watch – Unlimited Otaku Works

I’ve started to collect some links of like minded people who are also running their own anime, Otaku or Japanese gaming site and in this first spotlight that I’ve called Comrade Watch, the spotlight is on Shazzsteel, an Australian based photographer who’s also an Otaku.

The following introductory information is taken directly from his website, you can find the link on the front page in the Comrades side box. Give his site a look, it’s seriously impressive with some beautiful pictures from Australia and Asia.

Who am I?

Shazzsteel or Shazz

What do you do?

Currently I am a full time student at University of Wollongong in Australia. I like to take pretty photos in my spare time.

Where do you live?

For those who know me closely you may already know my home is in Sydney, Australia however my country of birth is Singapore. Being  brought up and raised in Sydney it was only a matter of time before I picked up the local accent rather than the typical ‘Singlish’ you hear in Singapore.

I do make yearly visits to Singapore usually for Chinese New Year to see  and spend time with friends and family. A perfect opportunity to indulge in local delights such as chicken rice…*drool*

I would you be willing to conduct a photoshoot for [insert cosplayer or cosplay group] on [insert date]?

Yes if I’m free and in your respective country at that point of time. Drop me a message at the contact page above.

Kojima Heats Up Next Week At TGS

Seems like Kojima Productions can’t sit still for too long with all the Metal Gear HD remakes they’re currently working on and will be showing at TGS, now I hear that they will also be having an event where they’ll be discussing the remakes of both Zone of the Enders and Anubis. Konami updated their stage schedule, via their Facebook page, outlining exactly what they’ll be presenting and their some great stuff in there. Since the announcement last June regarding Z.O.E. and Anubis remakes, they’ve remain tight lipped and not given anything away, until next week’s Tokyo Game Show.

Anubis: Zone of the Enders 2 Gameplay

September 15 will see the Kojima Productions stage holding an event to promote and discuss Metal Gear Solid HD and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D for the 3DS. This will take place between 14:00 to 15:00 and will have Hideo Kojima and Peace Walker and MGS4 voice actress, Yumi Kikuchi, handling the affair.

The Kojima Productions stage will then be running another event on September 17 from 13:00 to 14:00 where they’ll be discussing Z.O.E. and related games news. Whether the games are going to be HD remakes or if the news about a possible Z.O.E. remake on the Nintendo 3DS are factual, remains to be seen but all will be revealed next week. The stage will be hosted by series’ creator, Hideo Kojima and Peacewalker voice actress, Yumi Kikuchi. The Art Director, Yoji Shinkawa will also be in attendance.

And finally, on the 18th of September, the stage will see the Kojima crew discussing the newly released radio drama, Sdatcher from Suda51 which will run from 15:30 to 16:45. The voice actors will also be taking part in this event.

The events will be streamed on Konami’s Ustream channel which you can check out by clicking here. Also for Australian readers on the Eastern side, all the times I’m quoting are the times in Japan, who are only one hour behind us so if you’re planning on tuning in, please keep that in mind 🙂

New COO For Square Enix

Square Enix have just appointed a brand new COO, or Chief Operating Officer, from within the company. Clinton Foy used to have the title of VP of Business and Legal Affairs, sounds fancy enough, before he was promoted to his new position. And according to President and CEO, Mike Fischer, one of the key areas that Foy will be addressing will be SE’s expansion into the mobile market.

“One of the key new responsibilites of the COO role will be to shape and drive more aggressive business development initiatives in free-to-play, social, mobile, browser and emerging platforms. Clinton’s valuable experience makes him uniquely qualified to lead our organisation in these important areas.”

Let’s not forget that Square Enix will be having a keynote address at Tokyo Game Show that will deliver the message that Square Enix is here to make an impact on both the mobile and social markets. The keynote will run for 30 minutes.

Wednesday & Ichigo as kittens :)

We lost our beloved white tortoise shell cat, Wednesday, after having her for two years recently. Here is a collection of pics of her and her brother, Ichigo as kittens 🙂

Video below part 1 of 2 of the kittens trying one their collars for the first time which was pretty funny as they slowly but surely adjusted to life with a bell around their necks 🙂

Part 2 of the collar experience 🙂
