This past weekend saw Japandaman.com’s very own anime and senior editor, Farrah, come to visit Melbourne! Of course Japandaman had to meet her for the very first time on the Friday and that kicked off a very busy 3 days!! From eating ramen, bowling, karaoke, mini golf and loads more action, we all managed to fit in a very busy weekend for Farrah. Here’s a look at what we got up to on the Sunday which was tame compared to past days but we still had heaps of fun!
And so the trip comes to an end 🙁 But on our last day, we head to Gotanda to pay a visit to Culture Japan to pick up some new clothes and other bits and pieces for our Mirai Smartdoll. I then get all nostalgic and thank everyone for watching the J-Vlog and for sticking with me for the ride…yadda yadda yadda 🙂
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR WATCHING AND THE SUPPORT…IT REALLY MEANS THE WORLD TO ME!!
After a relaxing 2 days soaking ourselves in an onsen, we zoom back to Tokyo courtesy of the shinkansen. No time to relax though as with 2 days to go in Japan, it’s all down to the shopping! We hit Harajuku first before getting some dinner in Shibuya followed by shopping then some dessert 🙂
Even though we’re on holiday, exploring Japan is a hard work! I know…first world problems, right? We decided to take a couple of days off and head to Ito, a seaside town in the Shizuoka area which looked tranquil and peaceful. We were right, it was absolutely idyllic and relaxing!
Apologies for the lateness with this update but January 1st was a big day of rest…so much so that I didn’t start editing this until late at night! This vlog update shows us going back to Shibuya to check out a New Year’s Eve version of Hachiko who had a little friend on for show and then we head back to Senso-ji temple in Asakusa to ring in 2017!
We needed a K-Pop fix and the place to go to in Tokyo is Shin Okubo or Korea Town (Little Korea). We checked out many stores and bought heaps of K-Pop merch before heading to Tokyo Station to find character street, a cool section of the station with stores dedicated to popular anime, manga and TV characters!
Despite the freezing weather today, we headed out to Comiket, eager to check out another con in Japan which didn’t fail to disappoint with the high level of cosplay that was on display. Such cosplay! We had a quick look inside the actual venue which was very interesting but we weren’t able to grab any footage 🙁 Gomensai 🙁 We then caught the train to nearby Diver City to grab a bite and to see the amazing Gundam statue before he gets disassembled in March 2017 🙁
Today was a fun day starting the morning with some really beautiful kitties at Cat Cafe Monta before heading to Ikebukuro to check out massive shopping centre, Sunshine City in search of the Pokemon Centre Mega Tokyo, J-World Tokyo and more cool stuff!
It was a rainy, wet and cold day in Tokyo but that didn’t stop us from heading to Akihabara for a meeting with a friend before hitting the streets of Akiba to see how it all lights up at night! And we have our first mini giveaway in this vlog update!!
After a very hectic first four days in Japan, we turn it down a notch and just stick to our local neighbourhood of Asakusa. We started off the day by having breakfast at Mister Donut at midday, paid a visit to the Asakusa Tourist Information Centre and then had a stroll down the Senso-Ji marketplace before reading our fortunes then checking out the local gardens around the temple.
