Awesome store in Akihabara, Kotobukiya, have just announced that they’ll be releasing a new figure to add to their roster of Bishoujo figures. That figure will be none other than Chun-Li from Street Fighter fame. Chun-Li also holds the distinction of being the first selectable female character in a fighting game, go Chunners!
The model will be based on artwork from well-known artist, Shunya Yamashita, and sculpted by Masahiro Takahashi who has had previous entries in the Bishoujo series. The figure will come dressed in the instantly recognisable traditional blue Chinese dress releasing one of high kicks. Even better news is that after the release of this Chun-Li fgure, there are plans to add a Cammy figure to the Bishoujo family as well.
You can get the figure when it releases in January 2014 with a retail price of ¥7,140.
Great news for fans of the bishoujo genre with the reveal that PC game, Grisaia no Kajitsu ~Le Fruit de La Grisaia, will be receiving a PS Vita port. Bishoujo translates as “beautiful girl” which we can only imagine will look amazing on the PS Vita’s screen.
The PS Vita is due to touch down on August 8 but ahead of that, the game will also be receiving an anime for Japanese television. The game is a stylised visual novel which follows the happenings of a male student admitted into the Mihama Academy, a place closed off from the rest of the world for people who don’t fit in anywhere else. Interestingly, he’s also the first male to be admitted into the Academy.
You can catch the opening cinematic of the PS Vita port below.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls, which first aired back in 2010 and was an ARMS produced series, will be receiving a follow-up show currently being worked on right now.
The site for the new bishoujo samurai series has recently received an update in the form of a group of images, seen below, which are a tad…saucy. The way the series is working is by having early Edo warriors and Sengoku being featured as younger cute girls, which has also worked in the ‘Sengoku collection’ and ‘Oda Nobuna’.
In these series’, famous figures in history such as the legendary ninja such as Hanzo Hattori and warlords like Yukimura Sanada are recast as young cute ladies in a different retelling of the Modern world which changes a few pivotal history facts. Such as the Tokugawa Shogunate never falling and even the girls holding their own and fighting off the bombing of Japan during World War II.
