More from the basket of “Why but the why the hell not?” comes these new cat heads that you can get customised and ordered from Japan.
These ultra realistic heads are courtesy of Housetsu Sato, a Japanese based artist who specialises with working with wool as his preferred medium. He started designing them after making one for a school festival and it took off with the students and the demand began. The heads look like the real deal thanks to the woollen texture, fur markings and the freaky eyes that you’ll find yourself drawn to!
Nothing like waiting for public transport looking something like this:
In case you’re thinking these look cool but they must cost a fair bit…then you’d be correct. You’re looking at shelling out ¥648,000 or over $6,400! But if you have the cash to go around, then head on over to the Japanese Dwango site to place your order.
From the land that brought you the black squid ink burger comes something just as cool and different. Spotted on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line recently was a cat minding his own business and travelling on the trains like an ordinary commuter.
Here are some quotes from passengers who have been travelling with this feline.
“Looks like this cat is on his way home after a day of hanging out in ikebukuro.”
Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming 3DCG film starring everyone’s favourite blue robotic cat, Doraemon. The movie is being co-directed by Takashi Yamazaki who previously helmed Always, Space Battleship Yamato and Ryuichi Yagi who has Friends: Mononoke Shima no Naki on his resume.
Based on the 1st episode of the manga, “Mirai no Kuni Kara Harubaru to”, Stand by Me Doraemon will be hitting Japanese cinemas on the 8th of August.
Doraemon is a staple in Japan, having been around for a number of years now. To mark the release of his new feature film, Doraemon: New Nobita’s Great Demon ~Peko and the Exploration Party of Five, magazine publisher, Shogakukan, will be running a promotion for the blue cat.
Starting back on February 15th and spanning up until April 7th, Doraemon will be on the covers of 51 different magazines. Here are just a few of the magazines he’ll be showing up on.
