I’ve said this before but Japan LOVES their collaborations. Whether it’s anime x with a fast food outlet or something along those lines, there’s always something new coming out. Recently we heard of a new collaboration between the hit series, Attack On Titan, and Araiguma Rascal/Rascal the Raccoon, a popular and long running series on Japanese TV. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Rascal the Raccoon so the powers that be put their heads together for this joint venture.
On May 1st, a temporary store will open its doors selling Attack on Titan x Rascal the Raccoon items. The store will be opening in Harajuku (where else?) and will see items being sold with illustrations combining both series’.
The AoT characters seeing a crossover are Armin, Eren, Hange, Levi and Mikasa.
Here’s an update to a previous collaboration involving razor company, Schick and massively popular series, Attack on Titan. This campaign is known as “Refresh on Titan” and targets the various Schick products which will come bundled with a different assortment of AoT figures. There’s also an augmented reality AR app, Hydro 5 sets will come with a special stand while various promo clips show different aspects of the AoT series.
A couple of new commercials in the current Evangelion x Schick collaboration running in Japan. This one features a couple of tv spot featuring Shinji’s father, Gendo IKari, illustrating the best way to get a killer smile.
Love the Evangelion store from Harajuku in the background!
Hot on the heels of the reporting of the collaboration between Evangelion and athletic show company, K-Swiss, now we hear of a new collaboration between Evangelion and razor company, Schick.
The Evangelion x Schick Razor campaign has made a comeback for 2013 starting this month with a Phase One spiky haired silhouette. The promotional website and products won’t go live until April 25, the store displays have revealed that the character is none other than Gendo Ikari, appearing as if in the middle of a mid-life crisis.
Special promotional items for this part of the collaboration include ear jack plugs displaying the Eva characters.
Japan is full of collaborations and this time it’s the turn of the Evangelion franchise teaming up with a shoe maker. American athletic footwear maker, K-Swiss has teamed up with Radio EVA brand (“meeting new quality via Evangelion“).
The collaboration has created a range of Evangelion themed sneakers. The kicks will be limited and be available between now and May 10th. The shoes will be known as the K-Swiss The Classic shoes which have been designed using Eva 01 as inspiration which will come with two different colour schemes. Shoes with a 00 and 02 flavour will also be available and will also come with a unique postcard for ¥1,0290, very affordable.
