Better late than never, it’s time for a fresh batch of cool TV commercials straight from Japan! The J-Pop Princess herself, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is promoting the new range of Sharp TV’s, bikini clad girls promoting a mobile game (yeah, I know), a Kill Bill style ad for Dynamite Boat Race, Match soft drink, a swag of mobile games plus heaps more cool stuff! Superbowl 50 is just around the corner and with this sporting event comes the traditional slew of TV spots and ads that are broadcast to millions of viewers at half-time. And no, I haven’t decided to follow the NFL (not that there’s anything wrong with it) but one commercial caught my eye. There’s a commercial for the 20th anniversary of Pokemon and it’s a great one!
The ad basically follows the tried and tested theme of believing in yourself and being able to accomplish anything if you put your mind to it. It’s pretty inspirational for a Pokemon commercial and it’s definitely worth checking out below.
Nintendo has been known to employ the services of pop stars in the past such as when they required the star status of K-Pop group, Girls’ Generation, to advertise the 3DS in Korea.
Now they’re looking at doing something similar with the lucrative Taiwanese market by employing the services of girl group, S.H.E., to star in commercials for the 3DS. The girls will be doing commercials for Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land. Nintendo have gone one step further by allowing you to copy the Miis of the girls to your 3DS via the scanning of their QR codes which you can find below and underneath, a clip of the girls in action performing their hit, Shero, from a couple of years ago.
Here’s a brand spanking new commercial for Tales of Xillia 2 that recently started airing in Japan. This exclusive commercial was made early to members of the Tales Channel + fan club who received the special treatment and were given early access to it.
But thanks to a tech savvy member, he made the trailer available to the interwebs public.
Namco Bandai has recently shown off a new teaser commercial for the next Tales game. The TV spot is a trip through Tales history with highlights from past Tales games and the various catch phrases seen in the series.
More importantly though, the trailer ends with some new artwork and the phrase, “Are you prepared to destroy the world for the girl?”
The new TV ad is below ahead of the game’s release on June 2 while a new commercial is due to hit Japan tomorrow.
Following on from the recent 12 minute spooky ad from Japan for Spirit Camera on 3DS, the unique game with AR features has had its own scary commercial made for the US market which you can check out below. Underneath that one is the 12 minute Japanese commercial as well. Keep the light on, yeah?
A short and sweet commercial currently airing in Japan was uploaded by Namco Bandai to its YouTube channel today, short but shows off a lot. Check it below and start whetting your appetite for the game’s launch on February 2nd.
