Nintendo Direct Update – Special 3DS Systems

One of the cooler things to be revealed last night during the Nintendo Direct conference was the news that there will be special edition 3DS systems as seen below. Nintendo have premiered a new page on their Club Nintendo site to promote their “Chotto Mario-na Nintendo 3DS” or A Little Mario-like Nintendo 3DS campaign. These 3DS systems will be given away to 1000 lucky gamers during the campaign. The names of the systems are “Peach,” “Mario” and “Super Kinoko” and will be up for grabs to anyone who registers two 3DS titles at Club Nintendo between October 1 and January 15. The systems will only produced in quantities of 1000 each making them extremely rare and limited.

As well as that, Nintendo have announced that anyone who takes part in this promotion will also be getting Kid Icarus for free from the 3D Classics range just as Excitebike is. The game will be available from December 19 however Kid Icarus will also be available for purchase from the 3DS e-Shop at the conclusion of the campaign.

Nintendo Direct Update – Compatible Hero Returns

A franchise forgotten to many gamers out there is the Compatible Hero or the Lost Hero series, well it was revealed during last night’s conference that it will be making a comeback on the 3DS. The series was a big hit in during the hey days of the Famicom and Super Famicom introducing cross characters from the tokusatsu hero series and robot anime.

The 3DS incarnation will feature characters from Gundam, Ultraman and Kame Rider and will also be more of an RPG style of gameplay, which is something new for the series. You can have a peek at the trailer on the official Nintendo Direct site bly clicking the link below.

20:03: Mii Plaza will also be getting new features. An example is a map which shows where the Miis you encounter are from. Surechigai Densestsu 2 will also be included (I’m not sure what they call it in English). You have to have cleared the first one first.

20:02: You can record up to 10 minutes. There are a bunch of options. You can do interval recording, for example, setting the 3DS to take a frame after a few seconds.

20:02: First, movie recording.

20:02: Iwata begins by introducing the late November 3DS firmware update.

20:00: The event has started! It’s just Iwata speaking behind a podium. The Nintendo Direct thing is actually not just this event, but an experiment at directly delivering information to players.
