I wonder how popular the EB Games Expo will prove to be this coming October, it has my interest piqued and could be alright. The door prices seem reasonable as well bit not too sure about the VIP ticket, doesn’t seem like the extra cash may be worth it. The video below shows the partners they have lined up so far, all the big players will be present so there may be some cool demos to get your hands on and maybe some awesome swag, right? At the very least, it’ll be a fangasm of StreetPass action, no? I’ll wait to see if they release more vids as the date gets closer with hopefully more announcements and more exhibitors!
E3 is nearly done for this year and I just wanted to post some things that made my day and I’m looking forward to in the coming year, First of all, the big one Wii U, I really can’t wait til Nintendo start doing roadshows with this bad boy like they did with the Wii in 2006. I’ll be surprised if this isn’t the case as this is clearly yet another revolutionary console implementing a unique control system much as the Wii changed the market 5 years ago.
The other hot system revealed by Sony was the handheld formerly known as the NGP, which now has the final name of the PS Vita, Vita being Life in Latin. There were some incredible videos revealed for the Vita with Uncharted: Golden Abyss being a massive standout. Of particular importance was the US price revealed for the WiFi model which was $249.99. This is the same price that the 3DS costs in the US and the 3DS ended up costing $349.95AU. This hopefully means that Vita will follow the same pricing format and place it on even footing, price wise, with the Nintendo 3DS. The 3G & WiFi model was priced at $399.99US. Vid below showing the Vita’s capabilities and below that an Uncharted: Golden Abyss video…droolworthy 🙂
To see the awesome celebrations that Nintendo are doing to celebrate Zelda’s 25th anniversary, check out part 1 of the Nintendo E3 conference available HERE.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is shaping up to be another sublime outing in the Uncharted canon, just check out the trailer below.
And lastly, just a great compilation video showcasing the games on Vita.
P.S. Anyone else think Uncharted’s Nathan Drake and Kevin Pereira from Attack of the Show share a striking similarity??
Just returned back from braving the chilly elements tonight in downtown Melbourne for the launch of the Nintendo 3DS and a turnout it was. Great night with free Red Bulls and other soft drinks, party pies and muffins so top marks for the catering effort. The staff were handing out 3DS lanyards with numbers on them for your space in the queue while upstairs in the Nintendo Experience there was heaps of multiplaying, Mii’s being made on the 3DS and printed out and food everywhere you looked. Quite a few news crews were there to interview gamers and gather some footage. There was in excess of 100 people downstairs, upstairs and milling out on the street. I managed to grab a copy of Ridge Racer to go along with my Streetfighter IV when I pick mine up in about 7 hours time. Anyways, enough from me, pics below and thanks to my mate Hendy for tagging along with me!! 🙂
Unless you’ve been living/sleeping under a rock, you’d know that Nintendo’s latest handheld, a true successor to the current DS, is launched tonight at midnight however not all stores are doing a midnight. As in the store where I have my pre-order is not so I’ll be picking mine up on the way to work tomorrow morning 🙂 In case you’re wondering what all the brouhaha is about, the 3DS is a helluva lot more powerful than the current DS but the biggest selling point is that it offers 3D gaming without wearing special glasses…yes, you read that correctly. The 3D can be adjusted via a nifty slider on the side of the unit so you can adjust how deep the 3D is or you can even turn the 3D off altogether if it strains your eyes of the game looks better at different levels of 3D-ness? Anyways one of the biggest launch titles if undoubtedly Streetfighter IV 3D Edition whereby the developer, Capcom, have managed to pack in and utilise all the 3DS has to offer including Streetpass and Spotpass. If you don’t what I’m talking about, here’s a link. And if you’re not convinced on how holy this even really is, have a gander at the trailer for Streetfighter below…awesome stuff!!
So me and a mate will be there to take pics and soak in the atmosphere for Aussie Gamer, pics to follow on that tomorrow 🙂
More later!! 🙂
