There’s many Sega fans out there either for the amazing software they produced, the addictive gameplay found in their consoles or both. There are many fond memories of the Mega Drive (Genesis), Master System, Game Gear and, my personal favourite, the Dreamcast.
So it’s with great anticipation that I hear about an anime series being produced called Sega Hard Girls which features these old school consoles as girls who will be cast as kawaii versions of the retro systems.
There is a Twitter account but information is extremely tight at the moment with no air date or much information. But being fans of this exciting project, we’ll keep you posted.
Sega have announced that they will be releasing Vampire: Master of Darkness for the Nintendo 3DS in which you’ll take on the role of psychologist, Dr. Ferdinand Social. The game is a re-release of an old Sega title originally released for the Game Gear and the Master System.
In the game you’ll be using an Ouija board to capture the most famous vampire of all, Dracula. You’ll also have a gun, bombs, a knife and what could be garlic bombs at your disposal to aid you in your quest.
From what we’re hearing, the game won’t be a cartridge release but rather a title for the Virtual Console section in the eShop. Catch ten minutes of gameplay below and see if it’s up your alley.
One of the cooler parts of the Nintendo 3DS eShop is the ability to experience some retro games from yesteryear that you may have been too young to play but still hold their own in the world of hi def 1080p graphics.
And one of the best handhelds to ever grace the arena was the Sega Game Gear. We knew the Game Gear games were going to be making an appearance but now thanks to the Nintendo Direct show last night we now know who and when as well.
March 14 sees the launch in Japan of the three classic Game Games that will be finding a new home on the 3DS and they are:
The GG Shinobi
Sonic & Tales 2
Dragon Crystal Shirani’s Maze
I’ve personally played all three and each are classics in their own right especially The GG Shinobi, I remember I have an import version of that somewhere…
