We’ve been waiting for this one for a while and now it’s here. It’s a new trailer for the live action adaptation of Studio Ghibli favourite, Kiki’s Delivery Service. Even better though after finally getting a look at Kiki’s feline sidekick, Jiji, this new trailer sees Jiji talking!
Jiji looks and sounds fantastic and you can tell a bit of work has gone into bringing her to life. We can’t wait for this one, it’s looking pretty cute and worth a watch when it releases.
One thing that’s been missing from the live action adaptation of Studio Ghibli movie, Kiki’s Delivery Service, has been any mention on Kiki’s sidekick. That sidekick being her talking black cat, Jiji.
Recently an announcement was made announcing the voice actor who will bring the feline to life. Minako Kotobuki is a popular voice actress previously providing a character voice to K-ON! She’s also worked on Samurai Girls/Samurai Bride and Tiger & Bunny, just to name a couple.
The film doesn’t have long to go now with it’s premiere in Japan slated for March 1st. We’ll let you know how that goes, hopefully there’ll be a new trailer or more pics released. And speaking of pics, there’s a couple of new ones below with Jiji in the shot.
Something for the fashion conscious now with the release of some pretty jewellery to go with your outfit.
Movic, a company that designs anime inspired merchandise pieces, has released a range based on the films from Studio Ghibli. For now, the films in question are “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service” but they look great. There’s three pieces consisting of a ring adorned with Jiji, the talking feline sidekick from “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, a hairpin accessory that mimics Kiki’s flying push broom and a silver necklace with attached pendant taking inspiration from Nausicaa’s worm flute.
The pieces are available through Movic’s online retail store, Chikyu-ya, but there are plans to also sell through other retail outlets in the near future.
Another animated movie to make the jump to the live action arena is much loved Studio Ghibli classic, Kiki’s Delivery Service. The story revolves around a young witch leaving home when she comes of age and making her own way in the world. She has her black talking cat along for company, Jiji, who is very talkative and gives the movie some of its funniest moments.
A new trailer has just been released for the movie which is looking great despite some fans not being happy with the way Kiki has been portrayed in the movie with regards to her wardrobe. Have a look at the latest trailer below and see what you think.
We personally think it’s looking great but we won’t know until we have a chance to see the final complete version when it launches on 1st March, 2014. Still no sign of Jiji which we’re not a fan of but hopefully he’ll turn up in the next trailer.
