Holy cow, this would have to be one of the better looking box sets I’ve seen in a long time. Square Enix have shown off what awaits lucky gamers who pick up the Kingdom Hearts 3D 10th Anniversary Box set. There’s quite a lot of goodies in there ranging from Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance (duh) to the previous two DS Kingdom Hearts titles, a shiny spiffy protective cover for the whole thing and a set of twelve post cards featuring art work from the series.
But don’t just take our word for it, feast your eyes on the box set below…impressive!
Another piece of media to come out of the recent Jump Festa in Japan is some new gameplay from Square Enix and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the Nintendo 3DS. Thanks to My Nintendo News for the hook up! Still no release date which is shattering but at least it is coming to the West. Japan gets it in March 2012. It’s looking like being one of the more amazing games for Nintendo’s 3D handheld.
Just announced at the Jump Festa event in Japan is that Kingdom Hearts 3D for the 3DS will have a Tron Legacy world added. Fans will recall that Kingdom Hearts 2 also featured a world based around the Tron movie called Space Paranoids. In KH II, Sora teamed up with Tron, however no details as yet to who will be added to the 3DS version.
Square Enix have finally launched the official site for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance today and there’s a wealth of information and content available to keep fans happy. The site already had tons of content spanning story, worlds, characters, specials plus more. Head on over and check it out.
The World section only features the recently announced Pinocchio and Hunchback of Notre Dame stages however more content will be made available on the site closer to launch. The site doesn’t mention a firm release date but there is speculation that when the game is playable at Jump Festa, Square Enix will choose this time to announce the release date, hopefully sooner rather than later.
I’ll keep you posted on this tomorrow if it receives a release date.
At the Jump Festa Event happening now in Japan, Square Enix have announced the date to one of the most highly anticipated 3DS games yet. Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance has been announced as releasing in March 2012, no firm date has yet been given but a release window with a specific month is good enough.
The latest trailer to promote Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance was premiered at the Nintendo Direct conference on Friday night and it’s still looking great. Check out the trailer below which features Neku from The World Ends With You, another Square Enix classic from the DS which may or may not have a sequel coming out?
Famitsu magazine in Japan recently had a sit down with Tetsuya Nomura, creator of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the Nintendo 3DS. Seeing as how fan favourite from another Square Enix masterpiece, The World Ends With You, is in the game, Famitsu asked him if he had any plans for Neku who makes a cameo appearance. Nomura didn’t confirm or deny anything concrete but he did hint that Neku’s presence could mean that SE are working on something related. Whether it’s a direct sequel to TWEWY of possibly a remake for the 3DS with updated graphics or maybe even new features, remains to be seen.
A whole batch of new images released by Famitsu.com for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the Nintendo 3DS.
First up we have Sora and Riku together with the Hunchback of Notre Dame in a new world as well as returning worlds having new areas.
Next we have the Dream Eaters who will be able to help you out in battles by chaining combos together. Dream Eaters are also split into two different types being “Spirit” and “Nightmare” types. The Spirit Dream Eaters will be your allies and help you out, the Nightmare types will be your enemies.
Bold actions are something that both Sora and Riku will use in the game broken down into two systems. The first system is Free Flow Actions which will utilise walls and poles in the game environment. One example is the Kick Dive which is performed after kicking off a wall and then slamming into the ground causing damage to a foe. Turn Cutter is another one where you can swing around a pole using the Keyblade to create havoc in the environment.
Next is the Reality Shift which is activated when you see a special marker on an enemy prompting you to hit both the X and A buttons together. The gameplay will pause as Sora or Riku disappear from the top screen and reappear on the bottom screen. In this different state, you can achieve new moves such as the slingshot by Sora as seen below.
The ever popular Traverse Town is back with two new areas and it’s also the area where you come across special guest star, Neku from The World Ends With You, another sublime Square Enix title for the Nintendo DS.
We’ve been hearing from various sources that one of the surprises to be found in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS is the inclusion of Neku Sakubara playing a cameo role. For those in the dark, Neku is the main character in another Square Enix sublime classic, The World Ends With You for the Nintendo DS. There’s one scene in the TGS demo where Sora is trying to find Riku and instead Neku answers his cries for help. Neku is trapped in the Reaper’s world just like in TWEWY and Sora decides to lend a hand and help him out. Footage of this has been hard to come by but now Japanese publication has managed to snare some footage of the Sora demo from the TGS floor and yes…it looks amazing! Hit up the video below for the amazing visuals.
