Fans of Metal Gear Solid will have heard by now that the fifth installment, The Phantom Pain, has been given a release date of September 1st. Thanks to a clever partnership between Sony and Konami, one of the smexiest Playstation 4 units ever seen has just been announced.
Sporting a stunning colour palette of gold, burgundy, and of course black, the design is said to have been inspired by the bionic arm that Snake wears in the game. With a design this impressive looking, it’s sure to be a fan favourite. Here’s a better look at the console and a closer look at the DualShock 4 which comes with a Diamond Dogs logo on the right hand side.
As with everything this good looking, there’s no word yet on whether this will make it to the West but we can have hope…and keep our fingers tightly crossed.
As mentioned yesterday, Kojima Production were planning to show off some footage from Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. The footage was to be screened during the recent Kojima Station which aired this morning. The footage shown was very brief and features character Quiet dropping in amongst some troops using some very stealthy camouflage. What’s more impressive is that the footage was running in real time on a Playstation 4 console.
Hopefully there’ll be more footage at Tokyo Game Show next week. We’ll let you know once we’re on the showroom floor!
Kojima Productions have today announced that tomorrow’s Kojima Station update will be bringing with it a look at the TGS trailer for Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. But on top of that amazing revelation is the news of what they’ll be bringing to TGS around this game. From guests, goods, stage events and more at the Konami TGS booth, all will be revealed tomorrow.
Konami will also be hosting a “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Stage” on Saturday 20th September which will see various voice actors attending. Akio Otsuka (Snake), Stefanie Joosten (Quiet) and Satoshi Mikami (Ocelot) will all be appearing. More voice actors will be showing up on Sunday 21st September as well. As soon as the news breaks, we’ll have it up here. We can’t wait!
Mastermind behind Metal Gear Solid and upcoming Ground Zeroes and MGS V, Hideo Kojima, has recently posted some pretty cool pics. The pictures show him playing Ground Zeroes on a PS Vita using the Remote Play function of the Playstation 4.
The gallery also shows the PS4 launching the game from its own interface.

TGS is over for another year but the trickle of information still continues to leak out of Japan for a bit longer. This one concerns Konami and their release of the opening cinematic for Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes but with the English dub. It’s also an extended opening cinematic which has previously been available in Japanese so getting it in English is a nice touch.
