Metal Gear Solid PS4 Shows Up In Japan

Fans of Metal Gear Solid will have heard by now that the fifth installment, The Phantom Pain, has been given a release date of September 1st. Thanks to a clever partnership between Sony and Konami, one of the smexiest Playstation 4 units ever seen has just been announced.

Sporting a stunning colour palette of gold, burgundy, and of course black, the design is said to have been inspired by the bionic arm that Snake wears in the game. With a design this impressive looking, it’s sure to be a fan favourite. Here’s a better look at the console and a closer look at the DualShock 4 which comes with a Diamond Dogs logo on the right hand side.

As with everything this good looking, there’s no word yet on whether this will make it to the West but we can have hope…and keep our fingers tightly crossed.

TGS ’14 Update: Quick Look At The Phantom Pain

As mentioned yesterday, Kojima Production were planning to show off some footage from Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. The footage was to be screened during the recent Kojima Station which aired this morning. The footage shown was very brief and features character Quiet dropping in amongst some troops using some very stealthy camouflage. What’s more impressive is that the footage was running in real time on a Playstation 4 console.

Hopefully there’ll be more footage at Tokyo Game Show next week. We’ll let you know once we’re on the showroom floor!

TGS ’13: Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes English opening

TGS is over for another year but the trickle of information still continues to leak out of Japan for a bit longer. This one  concerns Konami and their release of the opening cinematic for Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes but with the English dub. It’s also an extended opening cinematic which has previously been available in Japanese so getting it in English is a nice touch.
