I wasn’t going to post this being that I’m not the biggest Microsoft fan but then I thought that there may be a couple of readers who may want to know what Microsoft will be bringing to next week’s Tokyo Game Show.
I can honestly say I didn’t see this one coming. Microsoft will be having a booth at Tokyo Game Show next week and they’ve revealed their games line up for the event. Microsoft doesn’t do good business in Japan so much so that quite a few stores stopped the Xbox 360 sometime last year. The Xbox One is slated for release in Japan which is why they’ll have a presence at TGS, we’ll send some pics your way once we’re on site. You can check out the Microsoft portal right here.

Don’t know if it will convince me to buy a Surface but it does look pretty good. Has this changed your mind about the Surface?
So Black Friday has come and gone for another year and the pandemonium seems to be finally subsiding. Now we can see what actually sold like hotcakes as some sales figures begin to be released.
Black Friday week saw 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles sold which should keep Microsoft happy however Sony still managed to pull their weight with 525,000 PS3’s sold for the same time, both beating Wii U sales.
The PS Vita didn’t seem to perform as well as expected selling through 160,000 units helped along by some Vita bundles in the form of Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified.
Nintendo managed to shift 250,000 3DS units while the DS sold 275,000, no doubt the cheaper price helping sales of the older handheld. There were no figures provided for sales of the PSP by Sony.
Capcom look set to hold a promotional event to start the hype machine for DmC Devil May Cry by having DmC sessions in Japan with the aid of Sony.
Just as Microsoft Japan once teamed up with Capcom to lend a hand with Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for the Capcom x Microsoft showcase. Sony will give support with Capcom’s Play.Community group whereby attendees will be able to play a demo of the game. The demo will feature the same two levels that were featured at this year’s Tokyo Game Show so in other words, most awesome!
The event will take place on November 4th and people wishing to attend will need to register and then cross their fingers that they get selected for the invitation. Those lucky attendees however will also be receiving some fantastic swag just for being there consisting of DmC t-shirts, a DmC bag, and PlayCommu screen cleaners as well.
For those of you in Tokyo and wish to try your luck and receive an invitation, registration is available here.
Microsoft released four minutes of gameplay from the Tomb Raider reboot that is incoming and if this footage is anything to go by, this could be the one to revitalise the franchise. It looks completely stunning with beautiful locales, great interactions with the environments and fantastic animations on Lara.
Lara is grittier than ever, disposing of foes in gruesome ways and shows she’s quite handy with a bow and arrow. The trip down the river is absolutely absorbing with an awesome surprise climax as only Lara can do. Enough talking, roll the trailer, it’s great!
