In case you missed it, there was a recent Nintendo Direct which looked at all things 3DS and Switch that are in development or coming out in the near future and let me tell you, there’s so much to be excited about!! For the 3DS, there was Pikmin, Monster Hunter Stories, new Yokai Watch, Miitopia, Fire Emblem Echoes and update on some eagerly awaited Amiibo releases. The Switch had some great announcements too with ARMS, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Ultra Street Fighter II, Minecraft, Puyo Puyo Tetris and loads more action headed our way.
In case you missed it, there was another Nintendo Direct broadcast last night but not for the newly announced Nintendo Switch. This was for the hugely popular monster series, Monster Hunter.
Specifically, a new game is headed for the Nintendo 3DS called Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) and it looks fricking awesome! The game comes wiht may enhancements including new Hunter Styles including the Brave Style and even better, new techniques for 14 weapons, new field, new base, modifications to the Prowler mode and of course, new main monsters.
More information will be coming in later broadcasts but for now, they unleashed a trailer which looks absolutely badass, check out the action below:
Just caught the Nintendo Direct mainly focused around the 3DS and I have to say…the future for the handheld looks great! I don’t want to give anything away or spoil it for anyone so check out the full presentation below!
Nintendo held one of their public broadcasts last night and this Nintendo Direct was aimed at squarely at the 3DS with a slight emphasis on the Wii U. Some amazing games were shown off but the more exciting announcements were happening in the back end for Nintendo.
The big one is that the Wii U and the 3DS will finally have a unified account that is able to share account credit across both consoles as long as you use the same Nintendo Network ID. This has been a feature that pretty much everyone has been asking for and it seems that Nintendo are finally listening to their fans. The social app on the Wii U, Miiverse, will also be coming to the 3DS so you’ll be able to post messages, drawing and more for your friends as long as you have an internet connection.
And popular video streaming site, YouTube, will also be coming to the handheld in the form of an app. All these changes and more will be coming to the 3DS sometime next month which will make a nice Christmas present for eager fans.
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is coming to the West but not a lot of gameplay has been seen in English. Thanks to Nintendaan who recently had the chance to go hands on with the game playing an English build. During the most recent Nintendo Direct, the game received a release date of December 6th for Europe while with the title, Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies. North America will have to wait til next year, I’m afraid.
The internet is ablaze with rumours and speculation over the possibility of a hunter from Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise making an appearance in Nintendo’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS.
Nothing has been confirmed as yet but it all stems from the confirmed news that Nintendo and Capcom are working on a joint project. The details of which will be revealed during an upcoming Nintendo Direct broadcast scheduled for September 14 which is coincidentally the release date for Monster Hunter 4 in Japan. Or maybe it’s not coincidence at all?
It’s all just a huge rumour at the moment but who would pick up SSB if this were to be true, who normally wouldn’t play the game?
Last night was a busy one for Nintendo in Japan with the broadcast of the 3DS themed Nintendo Direct broadcast. We’ve already seen the Monster Hunter 4 trailer plus new 3DS units, now it’s the turn of another massive franchise popular with gamers.
Ace Attorney 5: Dual Destinies had a presence at the show with an update on the release for Japan and a new trailer with more game action.
If you want to get straight to the Ace Attorney action, you’ll need to do some skipping ahead in the video til the 2:39 point of the video. Ace Attorney is due out in Japan on July 25th and some time after that, it will come to West as a downloadable eShop title.
Following the special Nintendo Direct broadcast last night specifically for the Japanese market , a couple of new exclusive trailers have been released.
The first one can be seen below for Monster Hunter 4 on the 3DS which also received a release street date of September 14 in Japan. More excitingly though was the news of two limited edition Monster Hunter themed 3DS units which will be released alongside the game’s launch.
Catch the trailer and the image of the 3DS units below.
Can’t believe I managed to report on this but tonight in Japan there will be a special Nintendo Direct broadcast focussing entirely on the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies and Monster Hunter 4, both for the 3DS.
Updates on this amazing soon!
