The Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, is a very busy person of late. He’s been on a European tour lately going to Germany, UK, Portugal, Spain, France and Belgium. While he was in the area, he went past Paris to take a look at the “Evangelion and Japanese Swords” exhibition which is taking place at the Maison de la culture du Japon a Paris.
The exhibition showcases different Japanese swords inspired by the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The Prime Minister had the following to say about the event.
“Anime is very popular in France. Utilizing Japan’s strengths will help the growing of the economy. A collaboration between a modern anime and a traditional swordsmanship is one of the new ways to promote ‘Cool Japan’ to the world.”
The movie, K Missing Kings, is a follow-up to the previous K anime series which will be launching this July in Japan. The film will be having its world premiere at the Anime Expo and Japan Expo. The Shingo Suzuki directed feature hits Japanese cinemas on July 12 which is just a couple of days after Anime Expo and Japan Expo at Los Angeles and Paris, respectively.

A who’s who of the K-Pop world recently touched down in Paris for the recording of a special show, which took place two days ago, but will be broadcast on the 18th February.
The following groups took part in the KBS Music Bank in Paris Special; Girls’ Generation, T-ara, 2PM, 4minute, B2ST, SHINee, SISTAR and U-KISS.
European K-Pop fans waited for their idols at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle in their hundreds holding up signs and placards.
KBS had the following statement released, “In addition to the Tokyo Dome concert we held last year, we have officially launched a expedition here in Europe… As the leading show for all things Hallyu, ‘Music Bank’ has made a break through in the international market.”
Check out the footage of the K-Pop stars touching down in Paris and the reception that greeted them.
Hopefully Japandaman Dailies will have more info on the screening of the special after it airs in Paris.
K-Pop super girl group are continuing their attempt at world domination by hitting up Europe after leaving the USA. Fresh off their debut on the David Letterman show and Live with Kelly!, the girls have hit the shores of Paris and made an appearance on the number one talk show, “Le Grand Journal”.
It has been confirmed that their album, ‘The Boys’ will be receiving a release in Paris making it the first time a K-Pop album has been released in this part of the globe. The last time a Korean song was released in France was way back in the 70’s and the group was Koreana and it was only a single, so this is absolutely huge for Girls’ Generation and for K-Pop in general.
Below you’ll find the clip of them performing on “Le Grand Journal” with their smash hit, ‘The Boys.’
Gotta love the fans’ reactions and the hosts as well, they got into the performance completely but what’s not to love, right?
