Square Enix Confirm FFVII Remake Will Be Episodic

There’s been rumours and speculation flying around for a while now regarding the nature of the release of the Final Fantasy VII remake.

Square Enix have today confirmed what has probably been one of the worst kept secrets and that is that yes, the game in its re-released form will be episodic.

SE recently said, “For Final Fantasy VII Remake, which will be reborn on PlayStation 4, there is a lot of content to review in doing a full remake, and production is underway as multiple parts.”

This update was dropped by SE during Playstation’s State Of Play conference held on May 9th. And not just that, but they did a complete mic drop by closing the show the FF VII trailer below with new footage.

Cool Commercials For Dragon Quest XI In Japan

New commercials have recently hit Japan for the forthcoming Dragon Quest XI. It’d be great to say these ads are for the Australian release but no…it’s the Japan release. These ads are only for the Nintendo 3DS and the PS4 release while strangely the Nintendo Switch version is conspicuously absent. Anyways, enjoy the TV spots below.

And if you’d like some more DQ XI action, here’s a look at an extended cutscene:

Accel World VS Sword Art Online Sees Western Release

Not sure how this one slipped under my radar and I was sure it was just a hoax when I eventually did hear about it but no! Bandai Namco has confirmed that there is an Accel World VS Sword Art Online game for the PS4 and the PS Vita and even better, it’s receiving a Western release too. Here’s a bit of a blurb from Bandai Namco themselves:

The worlds of Sword Art Online and Accel World have begun to merge! In the midst of the chaos, the strongest Burst Linkers from Accel World and Alfheim Online Players from Sword Art Online must come together in a war of the worlds to challenge the Seven Kings of Pure Color and rescue a dear friend from the clutches of Personna Babel. This all-new original story comes from Reki Kawahara, the creator of both Sword Art Online and Accel World, for an interdimensional adventure between two popular anime franchises.

Fro  what we’ve heard, your team will be built from three characters and while the SAO characters will be able to use magic skills and flight, Access World characters will be able to incorporate “Acceleration and special techniques.” Here’s an awesome trailer:

The game releases on July 7, 2017 for Australia.
