Project Mirai 2 Comes To The West

Great news for fans of Hatsune Miku who don’t own a PS Vita but need the Vocaloid fix.  And not just a normal version of the game but an enhanced version which carries the working title, Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai Remix which looks set to hit stores in the West sometime in 2015. It’s quite a momentous occasion as it marks the first time that Miku appears on a Nintendo console out of Japan and the first localisation of a Project Mirai.

Here’s a press release around the game:

Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI Remix features characters rendered in beautiful stereoscopic 3D, with two different rhythm game modes (button and touch) and three difficulties per song. Players will enjoy a highly customizable experience with user customization options for button icons and sounds, character costumes and gear for the character rooms.

Players can create and share personalized player cards that show off who you are as well as create customized dance routines to the songs, your own musical phrase and personalized comments about their favorite in-game videos, all via StreetPass™. The game also utilizes the AR card and photo capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS to bring characters to life in 3D.

“Hatsune Miku’s popularity in the West keeps growing, and we are proud to support such an amazing franchise with our games,” said John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America.

Hatsune Miku On 3DS

Everyone’s favourite virtual idol, Hatsune Miku, is making an appearance on the Nintendo 3DS and we have the screenshots for you! The game has a not quite finalised title of Hatsune Miku Project Mirai, Mirai means future. The game will feature a nendoroid version of Hatsune, nendoroids are figures with exaggerated features like big heads, for example, which are really popular amongst collectors, Japandaman included 🙂

Set against 3D graphics, the game will be bringing a rhythm based affair to the 3DS as well as an AR concert accessible with the 3DS AR card which should be good. Hit up the Nintendo information page some videos as well.
