I’m a sucker for the Metal Gear franchise, it’s easily my favourite series followed by Resident Evil. I also love cosplay so when the MGS series comes together and meets cosplay, the results can be astounding…as is evident from the pics below. I came across this amazing feature on Kotaku.
Here’s Rick Boer with some awesome and very talented cosplay.
Omi Gibson with a stellar Raiden, Quiet and Meryl.
Waiting for the release of Metal Gear Rising, played the demo to death and want more news on this eagerly anticipated title? How about the news that the VR missions that serve as a neat little bonus are exclusive to the PS3 version only.
Just like in the style of the VR missions for the original Metal Gear Solid way back when on the PS1, these missions get you ready for the long adventure ahead. They’ll cover stealth, combat training, a nice touch of tactical manoeuvring plus loads more. More exciting, the VR missions will allow you to take control and handle the mech known as the Dwarf Gecko.
At 30 missions long, there’ll be heaps to keep you busy if you intend to make it through Rising in one piece.
The Metal Gear Rising Revengeance demo has hit the Japanese PSN so if you’re lucky enough to have an account, you’ll be able to download and partake in one of the most exciting games to come out in a while.
But wait one minute, in order to play the demo, you’ll also need to have a Japanese PS3, the reason being is that the demo is region locked. Japandaman HQ downloaded the demo to test the rumours and they’re correct, the demo doesn’t run. This has happened before with the demos for Persona 4 Arena and the Joysound Karaoke System which was a Japan exclusive however this is the first demo to be region locked on PS3.
The demo will not be made available on the Xbox 360 seeing as how Konami has retracted and cancelled the release of the game in Japan for the 360.
So for now, it looks like we’ll have to wait for a local release of the demo on the PSN.
Konami has issued a gobsmackingly gorgeous PS3 model in the style of upcoming title, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The exclusive bundle that Japan will be getting includes a super slim 250GB PS3 coloured in black and blue, a matching controller and will also come packaged with download codes for a PS3 theme and even better, a unique Raiden Cyborg Ninja skin.
The Zan-datsu package will be an exclusive offered through the Konami Style store who are taking pre-orders now. The package is valued at ¥31,960 and will launch in Japan on February 21, 2013 and two days earlier in the United States on February 19. With any luck, a demo will be hitting the PSN around December 13 in case you missed it on the Zone of the Enders HD Collection.
Hideo Kojima, Twitter addict and creator of Metal Gear Solid, has been at it again and tweeted a quick shot of character Raiden from the series as he will be seen in the exclusive demo for Tokyo Game Show. Looking good and very polished, don’t forget Japandaman will be bringing you impressions from the show floor and all the games we can handle!
I haven’t really been covering much of Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, namely because I haven’t been interested in this type of game. But I have to admit the impressive roster of fighters has just risen a notch in my estimation with the inclusion of Raiden from the MGS series.
I love the way this cyber ninja carries about his business with effortless flair, really cool and from what we hear, his style of fighting will involve aerial juggling which always looks great and delivers awesome combos if mastered correctly.
Just check out the footage below of Raiden in action.
We already know that Konami is bringing the much awaited, Metal Gear Rising game to TGS courtesy of Platinum Games but we hear today is that they will also be taking the covers off a mystery character as well. This should be good and I can’t wait to get my hands on this demo at TGS.
In other related Metal Gear Rising news, we hear that Kenyuu Horiuchi will be returning as the voice of Raiden along with Hiroaki Hirata as the voice of Sam and lastly, Yoshimasa Hosoya will be playing the role of the robot dog, LQ-841.
Konami have just released this teaser trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance starring everyone’s favourite MGS sidekick, Raiden. It’s a live action trailer shown shown through the Raiden’s right eye in what looks to be a whole bunch of experiments and tests being conducted on him in a manner that doesn’t look too pleasing.
Some new information has just come to hand regarding the imminent release of Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 HD Edition for the Sony PS Vita. Hitting Japan on June 28, this re-imaging sees new features exclusive to the Vita platform, features that utilise the touch screen in innovative ways.
Check out the video below which shows off some amazing footage from the game and also shows the unique ways that you can drag on the screen to interact with the game, pretty sweet. Dragging to select items and peer stealthily around corner, brilliant also now with integrated trophy support.
I can’t do this title enough as a MGS fanboy, roll the tape.
