Amazing Metal Gear Cosplay

I’m a sucker for the Metal Gear franchise, it’s easily my favourite series followed by Resident Evil. I also love cosplay so when the MGS series comes together and meets cosplay, the results can be astounding…as is evident from the pics below. I came across this amazing feature on Kotaku.

Here’s Rick Boer with some awesome and very talented cosplay.

Metal Gear Solid PS4 Shows Up In Japan

Fans of Metal Gear Solid will have heard by now that the fifth installment, The Phantom Pain, has been given a release date of September 1st. Thanks to a clever partnership between Sony and Konami, one of the smexiest Playstation 4 units ever seen has just been announced.

Sporting a stunning colour palette of gold, burgundy, and of course black, the design is said to have been inspired by the bionic arm that Snake wears in the game. With a design this impressive looking, it’s sure to be a fan favourite. Here’s a better look at the console and a closer look at the DualShock 4 which comes with a Diamond Dogs logo on the right hand side.

As with everything this good looking, there’s no word yet on whether this will make it to the West but we can have hope…and keep our fingers tightly crossed.

TGS ’14 Update: Quick Look At The Phantom Pain

As mentioned yesterday, Kojima Production were planning to show off some footage from Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. The footage was to be screened during the recent Kojima Station which aired this morning. The footage shown was very brief and features character Quiet dropping in amongst some troops using some very stealthy camouflage. What’s more impressive is that the footage was running in real time on a Playstation 4 console.

Hopefully there’ll be more footage at Tokyo Game Show next week. We’ll let you know once we’re on the showroom floor!

More voice actors will be showing up on Sunday 21st September as well. As soon as the news breaks, we’ll have it up here. We can’t wait!

Sniper character “Quiet” from The Phantom Pain

Kojima Productions have taken the covers off a character to be included in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain who they say will be too erotic to cosplay. The female character is called Quiet and the 3D motion capture responsibilities fell on the shoulders of Dutch model Stefanie Joosten.

The request to make the character too erotic to cosplay came from Hideo Kojima via a Twitter post: I’ve been ordering to Yoji to make the character more erotic, and he did it well. Recently I’ve been making characters this way. You can catch a video below of the 3D motion capture process along with some 3D render images.

Confusion Cleared Up Over Metal Gear Solid & Ground Zeroes

At the recent GDC, Hideo Kojima took the covers off the Metal Gear Solid V trailer and released it onto the world. But despite Kojima being on hand for the proceedings, there was still confusion with fans thinking that The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes were one and the same.

Today the issue was cleared up with the announcement that the two titles are in fact two separate games. Jay Boor, Konami’s Director of Public Relations, had the following to say, “Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are two separate games. GZ will be a prologue to The Phantom Pain.” When he was pressed further about the platforms they’d be appearing on, he reaming tightlipped regarding Ground Zeroes. However he did reveal that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is “definitely 360 and PS3.”

A few of you have probably seen this already but it’s so awesome, we thought we’d post it as well. And this time, speculation was correct.

No solid facts on what it is but rumours are aplenty that it may have something to do with the recently announced “The Phantom Pain” which has everyone speculating that it is in fact, Metal Gear Solid 5.
