If that heading didn’t grab your attention, you must be made of stone. New anime, Planet With, is an original story from manga author Satoshi Mizukami from Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer fame.
Fans of tokusatsu action game Kamen Rider Battride War (me!) will be pleased to see this new trailer for the follow up to last years game. Kamen Rider: Battride War II, released by Namco Bandai, looks set to bring more action than the previous game. But don’t take out word for it, feast your eyes on the five minute trailer below.
The action unleashes across Japan on PS3 and Wii U on the 26th of June.
I was lucky enough to pick up the first Kamen Rider: Battride War game from Japan last year, I’m a huge Kamen Rider fan so it was a no brainer. So I was over the moon to hear that they’re bringing out a sequel with more tokusatsu shenanigans.
What’s even better than hearing news? How about seeing the below trailer?
The game releases across Japan on June 26 for the Wii U and the PS3. If you’re quick enough, you can also snap up the Premium TV & Movie Sound Edition available on the same day.
Here’s a trailer for a new tokusatsu movie, Jyosizu, which we featured the other day. Two reasons why we mentioned it, one, it’s tokusatsu and anyone who knows us knows we’re a fan of the tokusatsu, and two, the line up are badass kicking ladies.
Sort of like Power Rangers except they don’t play well in a team.
Japan is in for a treat with the announcement that a new tokusatsu film is in the works. The film is called Jyosizu which can be translated as “a girls team”, more or less. The film falls in to the comedy/action genre and involves 5 modern young ladies who form a Super Sentai team to take on the might of a tyrannical army force.
Manga artist Kazuhiko Shimamoto is in charge of the outfit design who previously did the original design for TV anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam, back in 1994. The 5 main actresses in the lead roles are Mina Fujii (Blue/Mika aota), Mirei Kiritani (Red/Naoko Akagi), Mitsuki Yamamoto (Navy/Sumire Konno), Kasumi Asumi (Green/Konoko Midoriyama) and Mitsuki Takahata (Yellow/Yuri Kikawada). The movie will make its premiere in Japan on June 7.
The upcoming Kamen Rider game, Kamen Rider: Travelers Senki, has us all excited even though there’s no chance of this game ever seeing a release outside of Japan. Still, we can’t help but love the tokusatsu action and with the new extended trailer below, we can enjoy it that bit more.
The game looks great and very action packed with impressive visuals. Looks like this might be an import job for our Japanese 3DS unit.
Japandaman is unashamedly a fan of Tokusatsu action, the live action movies or TV shows where the actors dress up in costumes, much like Power Rangers. So it’s with much anticipation and excitement that I came across this new trailer. The trailer is showing off the new and upcoming Kamen Rider Wizard movie (deep breath), “Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku MOVIE Battle”.
The trailer is jam packed full of the type of action this series is known for and crazy, over-the-top action. The plot revolves some time warping storyline which sees the Riders from the Heisei era take up arms and assist the current Rider, Kamen Rider Gaim. The film kicks off with much gusto on December 14.
Kamen Rider is a huge franchise in Japan and a popular TV show. There have been various different Kamen Rider shows from Kamen Rider Fourze through to Kamen Rider Wizard and loads more. Great news for tokusatsu fans with the announcement that a new series has been commissioned.
During the recent screening on television of Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen, there was a commercial for Kamen Rider Gaim, the new and upcoming series. This series will mark the 15th in the current Heisei era. Below, you’ll be able to catch a trailer of what waits for fans in the series.
If you love Tokusatsu movies or shows, then this next bit of news should be up your alley. This summer in Japan will see the release of Kamen Rider Wizard and Kyoryuger live action double feature movie.
This annual super hero movie event courtesy of Toe will hit cinemas on August 8th and will feature both Kamen Rider W and Super Sentai team Kyoryuger. The films which make up this double feature are Kamen Rider Wizard and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Gaburincho of Music.
How cool would this be to watch?
Fans of Kamen Rider W (like us) and cosplay will be excited by the imminent release of a cosplay piece. The Kamen Rider W Acceldriver belt is now ready to be picked up by fans looking for a collectible or cosplay merchandise.
The belt is worn in the live action show and will be on sale in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. This release marks the second piece of merchandise to be released in the “Complete Selection Modification” for adults. It’s made from high grade leather while the buckle looks like motocycle handlebars with a clutch and two Gaia Memories which can be inserted into the top of the belt.
If you’re after the belt, it will set you back ¥10, 500 excluding shipping and handling. You can pre-order until August 2nd while the belt will ship in November.
