I signed up a little while ago for one of those monthly loot type box subscription services. Turns out it was the last one and they were closing the service…just my luck 🙁 Anyways, it was courtesy of an anime streaming site called Viewster who had started the monthly service called Omakase. It was a bi-monthly service with the first month being Kill la Kill, the second month being Naruto and the third and final box being dedicated to Hatsune Miku!
I’m a big fan of Miku and had to sign up on the spot. After a little over 3 weeks, I received the box in the mail and thought I’d do my first ever unboxing video…which you can see below. It wasn’t a bad offering, I was expecting a bit more quality but still can’t complain! Check out the video below.
The other day we ran a post with a massive gallery showing the awesomeness that went on at Comiket 85 in Japan. Today we bring you a few cosplay video wrap ups with more amazing scenes for you to check out!
Lovers of Asian pop music will undoubtedly know that one of the most anticipated releases has finally hit store shelves and the iTunes music store about two weeks ago. That release was the latest album from Korean super boyband, Bigbang.
And a track from the album that is racing up the charts is Fantastic Baby, a dance themed track that is beyond being catchy, it defies belief.
Bigbang has been making inroads to the Japanese music charts which are notoriously difficult to crack and Fantastic Baby now has a Japanese version of the song along with a new video as well. Check it below.
We recently ran a post outlining the Fukubukuro or lucky bag sales in Japan that occur from January 1st each year. This is essentially where you part with some money for a bag from a retail store, unsure of what you’ll find inside, however the value of the contents usually far outweighs what you paid for it so you normally pick up a bargain.
Today we have some video footage from various outlets in Japan showing what they did for fukubukuro, ranging from the opening of LaForet Harajuku, which occurred on New Year’s Day at 9AM to the chaos that was the Shibuya 109 store in the heart of Shibuya. Check the video below and for more info, hit up the Tokyo Fashion website, link below the clip.
For those of you who are sleeping off Xmas headaches or post Boxing Day sales blues and completely missed the Nintendo Direct conference today held by Nintendo CEO, Satoru Iwata, missed a great show with heaps of exciting announcements revealed.
But fret not for if you did miss it, Japandaman Dailies has you covered and you can find the entire video below via the Japanese Nintendo website link. It’s all in Japanese but you still get the gist of it and there’s quite a few trailers to ohh and ahh over. It runs for over one hour so it’s a great watch, don’t miss put this time!
Another bit of information revealed yesterday during the Nintendo Conference was that in an upcoming firmware update for the 3DS, 3D video would be a reality allowing users to film their own videos in 3D. Nintendo CEO, Satoru Iwata, announced that the update would go live in November which would also be adding some new features to the Streetpass Mii Plaza.
And yet another dose of gaming goodness only available to the lucky 3DS owners in Japan, Nintendo have announced that they’ll be launching a new video service for their fans. Mind you there already is a 3D service like this for the 3DS whereby users can watch different offerings from Fuji TV and Nippon TV. This new service though will be updated frequently with 2D and 3D clips and first off the ranks there’s a tour of Kyoto, Japanese comedians and varying clips from fashion show, the Tokyo Girls Collection. Meanwhile in Australia, we get E3 clips…which is no where near as cool 🙁
Part 4 is nothing but the Wii U and the exciting games in development that we can expect to see like Smash Bros., Batman Arkham City, Darksiders II, Tekken & Assassin’s Creed with some great video along the way. And with that, the conference came to an end, the only question that remains is…who won E3 2011?
Great 3DS showcase in part 3 covering Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Driver Renegade, Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions, Tekken 3D & Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D. He then talked about the eShop and the different titles available from DSiWare to Virtual Console and finally unleashed Project Cafe or as the world knows it now, Wii U. The revolutionary new controller was shown as well as the ability to stream content from the tv to the controller and back again!
Part 2 dealt mainly with 3DS announcements and the usual suspects, Mario Kart, Star Fox, new Mario game, Kid Icarus and Luigi’s Mansion 2. Reggie then came out and spoke about Mario Kart footage which looked mint! Footage of the other games followed which allowed amazing especially the new Mario game 🙂 Kid Icarus: Uprising is looking particularly tasty with some excellent flying scenes showcased as well as some AR card trickery.
