Nintendo launched their E3 2011 conference with great fanfare and even greater presentation to mark The Legend of Zelda’s 25th Anniversary which up until now we had seen nought about. The live orchestra was a nice touch as well 🙂 Part one is all Zelda!
The final piece 🙂 PS Vita, LittleBigPlanet, Street Fighter x Tekken all wrap up the show…some corkers are in there, you’ll agree 🙂
Part 3 and it gets better! PS Vita, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, ModNation, Star Trek are all covered here!
Part 2 of said conference…In this part you’ll see Bioshock Infinite, Kobe Bryant, Medieval Moves, Infamous 2
Just so everyone can enjoy the Sony conference, I’m putting it up here in parts, so this would be Part 1. And here’s what you can expect to see in this part. Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, God of War Remastered, 3D Tech
Any Sony fanboy or girl will have heard by now of the latest offering from Sony, the successor to the PSP, will be the PSP2 or as it’s being called, the NGP (Next Generation Portable). Now I wouldn’t say I’m a fanboy but Sony does fill a void that Nintendo doesn’t quite fill and that being the space for the hardcore gamer with realistic graphics and things getting blown up. I’ve owned all iterations of the PSP including the Go but was less than thrilled when I saw the size of the NGP…it’s currently bigger than a PSP3000, ie. BIG! And yes it does push around a bucket load of polygons and pixels and shading coming out the whazoo but I was expecting more than just fancier graphics, 2 touchscreens and 3G access…I might be just a little picky here? The price of all this technological wonder hasn’t been mentioned yet but knowing Australia, it will involve selling our other kidney to buy it when it eventually arrives. But I digress (yes I do digress), the point that I was making was that unless there was a change to the size or the eventual price, I had zero interest in picking one up at launch…until I saw the video for Uncharted running on the NGP and the recent news that indicate Nathan Drake’s portable outing would be taking place before the PS3 adventures? A chance to see how and why Drake became the man he is and does what he does?
SOLD! The only thing remaining to clear will be the price barrier but hopefully the upcoming E3 will yield some answers on that grey area. E3 is 2 weeks away so hopefully any nuggets of information won’t be too far away 🙂
And if that wasn’t enough…just a reminder of what else we can expect from the NGP 🙂
Hilarious vid that I came across over on Kevin Pereira’s site (from Attack of the Show). Guy walks around Osaka fake shooting people and they actually react to it!! Then tries slicing and dicing with an invisible sword and yep, they’re falling all over the place!! If you don’t laugh, then check your funny bone cos this is good stuff!!!
I was fortunate enough to attend the Tokyo Game Show last September while I was in Japan with my wife and family. On the side I contribute to an Australian gaming site called Aussie Gamer who managed to “swindle” a couple of press passes for myself and the Laucha. I did a bit of filming using my iPhone and only last night managed to finally compile it together using iMovie for iPhone. It’ll be in two parts as YouTube won’t allow me to post a vid longer than 15 minutes so this is the first one and admittedly probably the more interesting one as well!! All the games in the vid have now been released but it was great to see and play Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Vanquish, 360 Kinect, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and many more titles 🙂 The 2nd vid will go up in the next few days.
