Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have no doubt heard about Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter project. The awesome news is that the project received the full funding and went beyond expectations.
It was so successful that all the additional stretch goals were also cleared. What this means is that the highly anticipated game, a spiritual successor to Mega Man, will now be coming to numerous home platforms. By clearing through $4million, the game will be seen on the Xbox One, PS4, 3DS, Vita along with the existing plans to bring it to PC and now Mac as well as Linux.
Time for yet another look into the sales for hardware and software from the Land of the Rising Sun. At this point though, are we really expecting to see anything different from the past year? Probably not but let’s take a look anyways!
The 3DS continues to stampede through anything in its path holding onto the top spot for hardware sales with Nintendo’s newly released next-gen console, the Wii U, holding onto 2nd place. Wii U sales did experience a slump down from the 122,356 units it sold last week however.
On the software front, Animal Crossing New Leaf continues to score for Nintendo taking out the top spot with 2nd place occupied by Fantasy Life, also for the 3DS. But, enough talk, let the charts below do all the talking.
01. / 01. [3DS] Animal Crossing: New Leaf
02. / 00. [3DS] Fantasy Life
03. / 04. [3DS] New Super Mario Bros. 2

Namco Bandai have announced that fans of The Idolmaster and itasha will be pleased to hear that these two will be joining forces for Ridge Racer on Vita.
For those in the dark about itasha, this is the act of covering your car with decals from anime, manga or video game characters made popular in Japan where they a festival dedicated to this art.
There will be thirteen “EX Color” cars made available soon which are plastered with the Idolmaster girls and will sell for ¥500 each.
Haruka and Makoto will be the first two girls featured for download on March 14 while Chihaya, Azusa and Yayoi will be made available on the 12th of April. During May, the other girls will each be able to be downloaded.
There will also be four Idolmaster music tracks during May each setting you back ¥150. ¥6,500 is what everything will set you back buying everything separately so taking this into account Namco Bandai will be offering an iM@S Pass costing ¥2,980, so it’s good value.
Below you’ll be able to see a few video promoting this crossover, enjoy.
The third week sales figures are in for the PS Vita in Japan and it doesn’t seem to be going Sony’s way unfortunately. Let’s a have a recap and think back to the Vita’s launch where it managed to shift 324,859 units. Moving to the second week of sales and we can see that the Vita sold through 72,479 which is a massive drop.
Now in the third week, the Vita managed a paltry 42,648 units…disappointing. The 3DS continues to reign however which is great to see considering people were quick to write it off after the alleged lacklustre launch and reports of the 3D effect giving people headaches, so much for that.
I’m glad I’ve changed my mind about buying a Vita, no regrets. I wonder if after time, third part support will beging to drop for the Vita if sales continue to fall back?
Here’s the hardware list for the week, the figure in brackets is the previous week’s figures:
I posted yesterday about Haruka Ayase lending her name to promote Super Mario 3D Land, well now Vita have thrown their hat into the mix with their promotional commercial for Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors. The thing is, no one who the person is in their commercial.
And once again, her commercial for Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS…very cute!
And now this buffoon completely pawing the crap out of the poor PS Vita…
I know which one is slightly more difficult to play in public *wink*
